Inconel 601/UNS N06601
Inconel 601 (Alloy 601 / UNS N06601 / W.Nr. 2.4851) is a nickel-chromium-aluminum alloy engineered for the most demanding high-temperature oxidizing environments. Building on the Inconel 600 base chemistry, the addition of 1.0–1.7 % aluminum enables the formation of a tightly adherent alumina (Al₂O₃) surface scale that resists spalling even under severe thermal cycling — delivering outstanding oxidation resistance up to 1250 °C (2280 °F).
Inconel 601 also offers excellent resistance to carburization and good performance in sulfur-bearing atmospheres, making it the heat-treating industry standard for furnace baskets, trays, muffles, retorts, and radiant tubes. Specified in thermal processing, petrochemical reformers, power generation hangers, thermal oxidizers, and automotive heat shields worldwide. Available in plate, sheet, strip, bar, rod, wire, seamless/welded pipe & tube, fittings, flanges, and forgings.
