Inconel 600/UNS N06600
Inconel 600 (Alloy 600 / UNS N06600 / W.Nr. 2.4816) is the classic nickel-chromium alloy — the foundational Ni-Cr composition that anchors the Inconel family. It offers a reliable balance of chloride stress-corrosion cracking resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance, and structural stability in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres.
With 60+ years of field-proven performance, Inconel 600 is the workhorse choice for moderate-duty service where 316L is marginal — including nuclear steam generator tubing (historical), chemical heat exchangers, food processing equipment, furnace retorts & fixtures, and general industrial corrosion service. Available in plate, sheet, strip, bar, rod, billet, wire, seamless/welded pipe & tube, fittings, flanges, and forgings.
