Incoloy 926/UNS N08926
Incoloy 926 (Alloy 926 / UNS N08926 / W.Nr. 1.4529 / EN X1NiCrMoCuN20-18-7) is a super-austenitic 6 % molybdenum stainless steel strengthened with nitrogen. With 24–26 % Ni + 19–21 % Cr + 6–7 % Mo + 0.15–0.25 % N, it achieves a PREN ≥ 43 — substantially higher than 316L (~25), 904L (~36), and even superaustenitic 254 SMO (~43).
It is the workhorse alloy when standard austenitic stainless steels (304 / 316L) and 904L fail in chloride-rich, sulfuric, or phosphoric acid service. Specified across FGD scrubbers, chemical reactors, seawater piping, offshore platforms, pharmaceutical equipment, and pulp & paper digesters — wherever pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride SCC are the design drivers. Available in plate, sheet, strip, bar, rod, billet, wire, seamless/welded pipe & tube, fittings, and flanges.
