Hiperco-50/UNS R30005
Hiperco 50 / Hiperco 50A (UNS R30005) is an iron-cobalt-vanadium soft magnetic alloy that delivers the highest magnetic saturation of any commercially available soft magnetic material — approximately 24 kG (2.4 Tesla). The vanadium addition improves ductility for cold-rolling into thin strip, while maintaining the exceptional magnetic performance of the Fe-Co system.
Combined with a high Curie temperature (~940 °C) and low coercive force, Hiperco 50 enables smaller, lighter, and more powerful electromagnetic components — the material of choice when power density and weight are at a premium. Specified in aircraft motors & generators, magnetic bearings, high-frequency transformers, actuators, and specialty electromagnets for decades. Hiperco 50A offers further-refined processing for higher permeability and lower core loss. Available in strip/coil (laminations), bar, billet, wire, and forgings.
